My head is spinning with all your compliments , thank you all.so much. It has taken me over a year to do as I work fulltime but im thrilled it all came together.......amazed actually.

So my plan for the quilting after all your brilliant suggestions, im going to echo big sections first and then go back and fill in. I like the sound of 1/4 being easier than sitd.........but I will practise.

Im also going to trust the job to my husqvarna viking lily 550, had it over 12 years and really know the old darling!! I have a brand new, not out of box janome horizon 7700 that I won at a sewing show but I think I will save that for future work.

Wish me luck ladies, ill report back ome my progress!

Thank you again, I feel we are all in this quilt together!

    Love ellsxx

Very, very pretty and a lot of work, it appears, but the end result is stunning. Just beautiful.

ditto. You sure tackled a not so easy quilt for your first, and did a marvelous job.

Great job. I like the idea of 1/4 inch away from seam. Gives added depth.

Wow. What a stunner!!!! I also agree with the idea to stitch 1/4 inch from seams, but don't doubt your FMQ ability. If that is your first quilt. You have the talent to do it.
