lucky for all of you I remember spending weekends at my grandma's,but she would never let me touch her machine! hands off. what fun was that. when my daughters where young I bought them a little singer but it never worked, it was more like a toy.
they never really wanted to learn. They say it is an every generation thing. now I am paying tons of money for my one daughter to learn how . She goes to Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. go figure.
Can't wait till I have gradchildren, so I can teach them, I need a second chance.

Thanks everyone for all the lovely thoughts. I look forward to getting to sew with them as much as they do. They are all so full of energy and make it exciting to see the joy in their faces. It's a simple gift to give them and we both get so much from it.

What a fortunate Grandma you are that your sweeties want to learn to sew. I envy you. I have three grown daughters, and four grown granddaughters, and I never had the "sewing" connection with any of them. I did give a sewing machine to my 18 year-old granddaughter last year when she was visiting and mentioned she had taken a sewing class in high school, but had no machine. I guess she will be my last hope!

What a great way to spend a weekend! They will each treasure the time with you as much as you will treasure the time with each of them. Thanks you for teaching them a "life skill" that they can enjoy for the rest of their lives. They are such pretty girls.
