Thanks ladies----- and yes speaking as a grandma I think all of our young sewing buddies are doing great. Can't wait to see some of their work in a few years down the line. I just love all the interest these girls are showing in quilting and that we get to help continue on the quilting tradition with all our granddaughters.

Such special times and memories we are making in their lives and ours!!!!!

    Pam,
The girls are doing so well with their sewing. Main thing is to allow them to enjoy themselves, and that they are doing :D :D
When I bought my new machine I looked at the one for kids. If I had more GD's it would have been a good investment. You are starting them out with such wonderful experiences and they will always remember their first projects.
Started my GD out with paper circles and squares on my old machine. She did well and so I thought, ok, lets try material  Well, she had trouble regulating the speed, ya know, pedal to the metal. Hope it won't be me teaching her how to drive. Put her on my new one with the speed control and she did great. She still has to learn speed control on the old machines
Grandkids are such a blessing and so much more when we can teach them about life and the love of quilting.

I read somewhere when teaching children to sew (to place I think they said an eraser in your foot pedal) so they can't sew to fast.

MY DH made special holders for all our foot pedals and that really helps the girls so they don't mash it down

It really helps keep it from sliding around the floor too
