My quilting mentor, my wonderful mom, is coming to visit from Iowa with my Dad on Wednesday. So...I had to scoop out the sewing/guest room. I'm extremely blessed to have these wonderful parents and my mom and I have had so much fun with our shared interest in quilting. You can see piles of containers in the room that are filled with projects...we are going to be making pillowcases for Give Kids the World, making a few lap quilts for kids with cancer, and I'm having her teach me how to make a quillow. A quillow is a long quilt that folds into a pillow...they are terrific gifts.
I see I missed a few areas that still need to be cleaned, but I've made some progress.
Check out my lovely sewing cabinet, made by my hubby, and now loaded. The dressers are full of fabric, as is the closet, plus 8 under-the-bed storage boxes. My mom has created a fabric hoarder by teaching me to quilt..I'm making her take the blame-ha!

My dad is going to go to the sailboat with my husband and do some "guy" things. He's also great about pulling out mistakes with a seam ripper. We always have projects for him...like squeezing oranges, waxing a car, or planting some flowers. He loves to stay busy and at 85, he is in perfect health! We're going to do a few outings, play cards, drink wine, and enjoy each other's company!
