Well, originally I had a pattern for the quilt, but I lost it. I bought this as a kit. It was from Thimbleberries line. After I lost the pattern, I just made this up. I started with 8 1/2 " squares of the light and dark. When they were done, my husband and I placed them in several different designs until we found this one. Then I just added the three borders. It looked rather plain, so I drew the flowers and leaves on freezer paper, cut them out, and appliquéd them on the squares with a blanket stitch on my sewing machine. I used fleece for the backing to make it warm and soft for her to nap under, and lightly quilted it. It was a quick and easy little quilt. I expect to find the pattern any day now since I finished the quilt. I know it is in the house here somewhere. Oh well, thank you all for the nice comments. When I told my MIL about the sweet comments you made about her, she was so happy. I promised to let her read them.
