Here are some pics of the finished quilt that some of the residents of Autumn Care Nursing Home, my mom, dad, and myself have been working on for the past month. It was finished this morning about 4am by my wonderful mother. It gets unvailed officially Sept 12, 2011 but i could not resist sending out pics. Every other block was colored by residents i think they are adorable then we made 9 patch blocks to go with them and in the center we decided to use hands and hearts so i named the quilt Hands Helping Hands, it will be raffled off Oct 10 to raise money for the activities dept at the nursing home.

How sweet! Inspires others to imitate what you've done!

What did the residents use to color in their blocks?

it is wonderful. Coloring patchwork, GREAT idea. The design is great. Our local nursing home just remodeled and also put on an addition. The activities director would like to hang quilts instead of those dark paints that were there. Wouldn't this be fun.

I love the border fabric. It makes all the other colors shine. And you can tell that some of the hand-colored blocks were done by people with some idea of quilting block patterns! What a neat project.
