Default Rainbow Churn Dash Baby Quilt

This is my very first completed quilt! I made it for my little girl, who is 5 months old today. I love bright colors, and wanted something gender neutral since we didn't find out what she was going to be in advance. It is pieced and quilted totally by hand, which is partly why it took me SO LONG to finish it, lol. I also want to say thanks to those who offered their opinions on my earlier post (http://www.quiltingboard.com/main-f1...s-t226469.html). Yesterday I finished adding the quilted squares in the cornerstone areas and "x"es in the rest of the sashing. I know there are no quilt police on this board so I won't bother pointing out my many mistakes!

My quilting still leaves a lot to be desired, but I can definitely tell I improved over time.

Instead of making a separate label, I hand embroidered on the red block on the back.

And here is a picture of my beautiful girl, finally enjoying her quilt! FYI, the funny-looking plastic thing in her nose is a nasal conformer, which she has to wear for a couple more weeks to help her heal properly from her cleft lip repair surgery (more info here, if you've never heard of clefting: http://www.cleftline.org/parents-individuals/).

Your baby girl is beautiful!! The quilt is, too, and you did a very good job on it! Congratulations on both!

Beautiful job. For some reason i have a soft spot in my heart for churn dashes. Congratulations on persevering through the hand quilting. Your daughter has a quilt she can treasure.
