    Default Reading Pillow

After long years of struggling with typical sofa pillows, scooting them forward because the large hardcover books I prefer to read kept pushing them away from me, adjusting because the end of the book dug into my tummy, I finally made this reading pillow. It took a couple iterations to get the shape and rail size right but I think this one is as close as I can come to just right; it's about 14" long, 9" tall, 6.5" deep at the widest point (the top) and the rail is about 3.75" deep.

The bottom is fleece, I wanted something a little grippy to keep the weight of the book from pushing it away from me, the rail has two layers of poly battling for a little protection from the spine end and I used shredded foam stuffing for firmness. The fabric was a batik that bled so I bleached it until I got a look I liked, I only quilted the front piece since I was working with batting scraps and am finally down to almost nil. Thanks for reading and looking.

Any chance you'll share your pattern - and post a tutorial?
