I'm so impressed with what you've done. It's such an inspiration for me! I want to do one too!

Wow! Beautiful quilt! May I ask where you got the pattern, and the pattern name? I think it's a little above my level of experience right now, but one day.......

    It's gorgeous!

    Thank you :)

The pattern is called No Diamonds in the Sky and I'm not sure where I got it, maybe Whittle's Fabrics but I have seen it other places.

If you can do a half square triangle then you can do this. That is ALL it is except for the setting material. There are no set-in seams and no diamonds.

The only thing I did differently than normal on this is that the pattern called for 3 7/8" squares and I made them 4 1/4". Because it's not 12 1/2" blocks that I would square up after they're done I needed to be very precise. After sewing and cutting apart the HSTs I squared them up to 3 1/2". Doing that made everything come together just perfectly rather than messing with any differences in un-squared HSTs. It didn't add a whole lot of work to it, I just got together the HSTs for a section and squared them up as I did a block.

Your quilt is beautiful. I really love your border fabrics. You've made me want to challenge myself to see just how quickly I could put a quilt together. Can't wait to see it finished.

    The border finishes it perfectly!

After seeing the link earlier, I drew it up in EQ6. It's quite simple to draw, just a matter of concentrating and making sure you get the triangles the right way round.

It's not that my goal is to do it quickly, exactly. I have just promised myself that I won't let things linger and linger and turn into UFOs. I only have 3 that I am working on. One needs more applique, one is being hand quilted, and this one. I am thinking that I should spend a week and complete the applique one before starting the next one.

Of course... they all need to be quilted and I'm about to break down and get them to a LAQ so they are DONE!

It takes concentrating to make sure they are sewed together right too!! I was doing so well, not one mistake, but wouldn't you know it that the second to the last row I had two pieces turned upside down. I had to take out the seams around them and turn them around! Thankfully I hadn't sewn the section to the body yet.

what size is this top when it is finished? This would look beautiful in blues and yellows, blacks and grays, whites. My gosh -- the possiblities are endless.
