Recycled Phone Book Pages
#23
My love of sewing, ultimately leading me to quilting, was a pink suit with a black shell my mom made for herself when I was little. She wore it with black hose, black heels and made a pink purse to match. This was in the early 60's, very Jackie Kennedy-ish. When she made that I knew I had to sew!

i was always afraid the ink from the pages would rub off onto hands & fabrics? does it? it would sure be a better way to use old phone books- and probably easier to remove the papers too...i found that newspaper the ink comes off & makes a huge mess- i just assumed it would from phone books too.

the small books make a perfect size for blocks. This is about 1/3 finished....I'm running out of pink =) Never thought THAT would happen. It goes together very fast when you need some mindless sewing. You don't have to worry about size of strips or seams ~ just the trimming. =)
