My son handed me a bag of shirts last summer that just didn't fit right, or were too short in the torso. He wanted me to drop them off at the thrift store on my way home. SO, I took them home, on purpose, and made him a quilt. I gave it to him for Christmas. I give all the kids a quilt, 'specially with them in mind; I'd wanted his to be blue and tan (favorites), and something without any hint of feminine. I'd saved a copy of one similar to this one, and after I started I also saw one on Quiltville.com similar to this one. It was a real hit! He loved it! (and caused one brother to get very jealous!)

The braided borders were a &%#@ to do because the widths were not the same width. Bad mistake!

Kitty tested, owner approved. (No animals were harmed in the sewing of this project)

Each block was sewn onto a foundation square first.

That is one great quilt and I am sure your son loves it. Has your other son brought over his old shirts yet?

Thanx! I have plenty of scraps for another quilt from these shirts and have other plans in mind for using them also. I had never used many plaids before.

    I embroidery in the corner

The first one was a little blurry. Let's try this one.

I really like this! Too bad plaids are considered manly, 'cuz I like plaids too.
