    Dorothy, I don't use a pattern. I just framed the 9" machine embroidered squares using 4" strips. I sew the strip to one side, cut it off at the edge of the embroidery square and continue on each side till it's framed.I check each block for square (i'm no too picky). Then I sew the framed blocks together untill it's big enough to put on a border and end up with a decent size bed quilt. I do the same with the borders, sew strips to the edge and cut off at the end. I guess it's the easy way out, I only measure the width of the strips, not the length. I should be ashamed! :oops:

    Such a beautiful, girly quilt...I absolutely love it! I made my grandaughter a redwork quilt a few years ago but it wasn't as colorful and cheerful as yours...just used pink & white fabric, it was still pretty though.
