Wow! That is beautiful! I am glad that you told us that the strips are different sizes, becasue my eyes saw that, and I thought I was not seeing correctly! That is what gives it that curvy feeling! How sweet is that! I would go with a more solid color to border the quilt, the grass green idea sounds good, but do audition it first! It is a WONDERFUL quilt!

Oh, these are gorgeous! Log Cabin is one of my favorite block patterns. I love the flowers and lights in the top one and the wavy effect in the bottom one.

If that bottom one was in bands of dark and light blues, it would look like water waves... trying to figure out if I could ever do that...

I don't know that I'd choose a border for the top one, just a binding in a tiny, monochromatic floral.

    Karla:

You quilt is beautiful! Great job!! I'm not sure I would use a border. I think it will distract from the quilt. Just MHO.

that is just beautiful. i've never done a large log cabin myself, and now i remember why. the work you put into it is amazing.

did you buy all the fabrics specifically for this project? or did it grow around what you had? what was the finished size? i love it.

Yes, Jackie--it was a job!! Once the lay out was decided and all the squares were in a pile with index cards marking the row number--it seemed an overwhelming job to sew them all together the right direction. But, slowly the job gets done.

butterflywing--I had most of them already, but bought several along the way--especially the lights. It's hard to get just the right floral--color wise--how big and close together the flowers are... and in hind sight, there are several fabrics I'd not use again.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. They mean a lot.

I would go with a blender. Something that is not too busy. Do you have any Moda Marbles?
