    I also prefer a darker border on a quilt. It doesn't look like a mistake at all. We will all keep your secret!

    i love pieced backings. yrs ago, i wouldn't have thought of doing it, but now i almost want to plan one. it looks great.

    I add pieces into my backing with almost every quilt. I think it is a fabulous way to use up the extra bits and add a statement to the backing. I'm happy you found a way to solve your 'challenge'.
