    The shapes are essentially "pillows", with fabric on both sides. I slit the back and stuffed each pillow, then attached to quilt. Faux trapunto is what I coined for the look :)
    Gotcha, technically that is "real" trapunto. That is how they used to do it until someone came up with the bright ideal of doing a layer of batting with the top only then trimming away then sandwiching with batting and backing and quilting all around. All the older quilting books give directions of slitting the back and stuffing the area or putting cording in.
