Some people do not understand the caring that goes into a gift quilt.

Sometimes those of us who love to keep on quilting......might choose to donate our things to a charity shop to help them raise money. Fashions change....

I love to rescue quilts no matter where I find them. These are treasures.

I agree that quilts are treasures and I too would rescue them. Your story is precious.
Sewgull I hope you gave your sister a piece of your mind after she gave that quilt away. If it were me I would probably never make her another one. Am I nasty or what???

Oh I did give a piece of my mind. She sews beautifully, but does not quilt. I still love her, but no more quilts. If she asks for a quilt, I will think long and hard about it. Thank you all for caring.

I am definitely going to have to get out more. My occasional treks to the thrift stores do not turn up items as nice as these. Such a touching memorable story about your grandson.
