Default retirement quilt - black, white, pink

A dear friend whom I have taught with for almost 30 years is having her retirement party tomorrow. I just finished her retirement quilt. She and I have shared this job for several years - last year we had 4 retirees and between us we made them each a quilt. Now ... just me. (Private little pity party here.) She is our school librarian and I started with an apron she wears when she's repairing books. Look for the big "L". That was the start of this project. I put the label on the front - it's sewn on the pocket fabric from that apron and the black backing is also from that handy little item. Other blocks are from T-shirts we've had at school. It's certainly different anyway! Can't wait for her to see it tomorrow.
