Thanks everyone for your kind comments!

After I got it done, I decided that less is more. Just using a few shirts let me spotlight them much better. I really don't like making tee shirt quilts in the traditional way, it's like wrestling a mattress, so I think I'll take this approach for future projects as well. It let me be much more creative and like everyone has mentioned, the layout really works much better.

Your quilt is going to inspire a lot of 'improved' tee shirt quilts.

This is a very special and beautiful quilt. How many shirts did you end up using? It just looks so great. It really pops.

I used just 3 shirts, but took pieces from the backs as well. The BB King had a wonderful signature on the back (top center) Then below it, I used the back of the 'Slowhand' shirt. Then came the front of the BB King shirt, and the Slowhand front. The other shirt was a 50 years commemorative E.C. shirt, so I put the front on the right and the back of it that shows the 50 years on the left. The rest are just pieced blocks. (actually squares set on point) I did 'frame' the tee shirt pieces with fabric to make them stand out better. The BB King, I framed in white like the pieced blocks, (it is actually a white on white paisley) the Slowhand, I framed in yellow and orange and the 50 years I framed in white and blue. The tee shirts were so dissimilar that I needed to pull them together somehow and framing them seemed to help. I also added those stripes to pull the colors together better as well. If it weren't for wanting to use those specific 3 shirts, I'd have probably never put those colors together.

I'm a huge fan! I love BB King, Eric Clapton, your creativity, and the bold colors.

I generally don't care for t-shirt quilts, but that one is very nice! I love the layout and the addition of the stripes. Well done!

I generally despise making them, but all the kids want one. From now on, less is more in my book. I won't be guilty of one of those massive constructions again...this was much easier and really, much more pleasing in my eyes...plus, it was easier to work on too!
