Your quilt is beautiful and I know he will LOVE it!

I made 3 D9P's for my boys last year for Christmas. My 7 year old (now 8) received on with Lightening McQueen, a gold, and that same checkerboard fabric. When I was tie tacking it and later on when I took the pictures those checkerboard pieces moved all over. Even when the I had the quilt lying perfectly straight it looked like they were moving. That is some really odd fabric!

Your GS is going to do the Happy Dance, because his Grandma Rocks. With all that love and appreciation for Grandma's quilting, I see many quilts in his future.

Jan, where did you find that wonder fabric. My 12 year old grandson is in to Nasscar, and wants me to make him a quilt. That would be perfect for him.

Hobby Lobby for the fabric. Quilt pattern is Warm Wishes. I found it on this site.

If I were doing it again I might do the checkered fabric the same size as the rest of the rails - in the pattern it's bigger than the other two.

But if you like it to strobe - I followed the pattern as written!

If he's anything like my younger grandsons, he'll be so enthralled looking at the pictures on the quilt he won't want to come out of the bedroom! You did a nice job!
