whimper. whimper, I thought I was a quilter, now I know I am just a hug maker. I can live with that. Those are some spectacular quilts. Thanks for sharing them. I hope you had a great time.

My family was wondering how I could spend 6 1/2 hours at a quilt show by myself last Sept. I'm going to show them your pictures and then perhaps they'll understand that it's like going to an art gallery or museum to see all the displays - only better!

I remember over 30 yrs ago when the judges at an art show decided that quilts could not be entered into the art exhibition because they were not truly art. That quilts are "just hobbies". Well, we have come a long way baby !!! I dare any art critic to say these are not art in the truest and fullest meaning of the word.

Sheesh! I missed it! Was planning on going on Saturday, but life got in the way (sigh). I really like the big sampler quilt in the second series of pics you've shown...absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

I was at the show on Thurs. and took a class all day. It was a "Hanky Panky" quilt with Cindy Brick as the teacher. I didn't get to see the show because I had to rush home. Then, I went Sat. for all day and it was one of the best shows they have had. I took a mystery class from Cathy Farris on Sat. nite. She is a good teacher too.
My friend Paulette Landers won first prize in one of the art quilt categories. She is a true artist and does beautiful work. She is just a person like you and I and cried when she found out she won. I have another friend who sets up the show for Road and she said that attendance was up 30% from last year. I didn't spend too much, but enough to make some vendors happy. If you ever get a chance to go to this show, it is just wonderful!! By the way, those were great photos.
