    Why not spray paint it whatever color you want in a gloss finish and then it would be fine for fabrics.

    What about buying the clear shoe storage size boxes that come with lids at Walmart or wherever? Would they fit?

    Nice find! Look for fruit/vegies in those little clear containers. They have little holes in them that allow the fat quarters to breathe.

    why not take some of your fabric scraps and line the boxes use a craft glue to glue them onto the wood this would be the most cost effective way of taking care of it, or old wallpaper or get the samples book of fabrics from a store .I am sure you will find a creative way of doing it
