This was my first attempt and I'm glad I did it with an instructor leading the workshop. She stood by me and said "put this here". After a while, it clicked and I love it. The points come out perfect. She gave many helpful hints, but here are 2. Sew with a very short stitch (that makes tearing the paper away go much easier). The second hint was to set your machine to a basting stitch and stitch 3 or 4 stitches across the meeting points when you sew 2 blocks together. That way you can turn the piece and see if you have the intersections the way you want them. If not, you only have to pull out 3 or 4 big stitches instead of 150 VERY TINY stitches. Saved me lots of time with the ripper.
