    Default The rose quilt

I have always wanted to do a wholecloth. I took Cindy Needham's class on craftsy.com and have been working towards it. This is not exactly wholecloth but close enough. I used So Soft fabric paint to do the roses. I dipped my brush into fabric medium and only put red on the one end working only one color of red on the edge of the rose petals leaving the centers of the petals unpainted.

The feathers are quilted so that they appear to go under the roses. I combined two stencils to get the border design and also made the feathers appear under the rose and intertwine. The same rose quilting stencil was also used for the painted roses. It is from the Stencil Company and has three sizes of roses. The micro quilting took forever. I was very lucky on the feather stencil for the border really being close in size so not much adjusting to do.
