Well how about toes? I have many quilting friends that do not close the guard between cutting sessions. I have learned to always close it between cuts. I've cut my finger on their open cutters because we were working in the same area and I didn't see the open cutter until it bit me. Its too easy to accidentally knock it off the table when moving fabric around. I'm usually in flip flops and I really need all my toes. Really like the quilt and the story.

Poor man...I bet he lets you cut all the material for his future projects.

Great quilt and I love the photo - a reminder of safety at all times.

I joined the "club" just this past Tuesday evening. I normally tuck my 1st finger under to avoid cutting mishaps but was using a different template to cut...one of those with slashes in it and a friend was over and talking. I looked up ... just for a second...to look at her and whap cut a nice slice in my finger! It's healing but very tender. I have it double bandaged for work since I'm on a computer all day.
