looks great for a scrappy kind of guy - I think your son will like it especially knowing he'll be covered with his dad's shirts.

I really like it and I bet if you looked at this picture thinking it belonged to some one else you would like it very much.

I think the dark denim actually looks great. It calms down the scrappy blocks and it unifies everything.

Keep going, he will love it!

I agree with the others...it looks really great. Just keep going the way you are and it will be done in no time. I am a big fan of scrappy/recycling and this is one of the nicest ones I have seen. It's hard to make quilts for men, sometimes they can look a little sombre, yours is "manly" without being dull.

I like it. If you think it's too busy, what about just sashing without the cornerstones? That would probably tone it down a bit for you. You could lay some pieces over the cornerstones to get a better idea. Are you flexible on the denim? It would look nice with muslin sashing too.

i'm a new quilter too, and yup, i want to make one for everyone for everything! too much dreaming and not enough time in the day to do all i want! i like it; it's got alot of character and thought and i think when it goes together all the way you will be very very pleased. my very first top i thought was hideous and i swore to never finish it..i thought it was obtrusive and ugly and could not believe i put it together. but i grabbed it anyways when i got my new machine to practice quilting on. i noticed after it was quilted and washed it seemed to have changed some and it's now on the back of my couch! have any of you noticed that also or am i just being dumb?? everything i quilt seems to take on a different look when its all done???
best of luck to you and keep stitching!!
