    Default Safari quilt

My auntie and I both have a love of Africa. She and my uncle returned many times. Three days after the return of their last wonderful experience there, her husband died.
I already had this fabric and was going to surprise them both with a quilt, but I put it on hold until now.
This is the top. I'm going to back it with fleece for extra warmth.
I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I've never used blocks like this before, but they really showcase the fabric well. I was determined to use the zebra print as the border and I think it looks ok.
This is my first project for 2013 nearly finished!

She will be so touched, and treasure it for the rest of her life I'm sure. Happy New Year!
