    Oh my goodness, i am overwhelmed by all of your positive responses... I can send any one who is interested the unit sizes . Placemats finished at 12-1/2" x 15-1/2". Our grandson put them directly on their table this morning when the placemats were gifted.

    Lovely. I can see this in a large quilt with patriotic colors for a veteran, and the dark blue being a red instead.
