Ok, here he is, my scarecrow. He's been hanging out on my felt wall for 2 years now and needs to be finished. but just couldn't decide what to do with him. After seeing all the beautiful chickens. I think maybe that is what he needs. I'm not big on appplique, but love all of you're chicks Please tell me what to do! :?:

How about an ear of corn on the ground beside the scarecrow. Are you going to put a border on this one?

He is a cute guy!! I thought corn too first...then if you aren't 'corn crazy' then I'd suggest fall leaves all the way around:)He will look great no matter what you decide.:)Skeat

    Oh! Nice Scarecrow!

When we made paper scarecrows each fall in my kindergarten class, the scarecrows weren't done until they had patches on their clothing. A red knee patch? You could applique a few little yellow chicks around his feet to help him fit in.

now the corn idea, with the chicks...they could both jump on that...and about applique, you know you don't have to do it by hand. You could use Steam a seam2...it's adhesive on both sides, then machine the edges.
My mom used to use fabric paint on edges of appliques to seal them.
I haven't had enough practice for that, but not all that keen on the look, unless it's...lol...going on a wall!!!
