Congrats on almost emptying your scrap bin and making such a colorful quilt. I like the block design you used.

I'm hitting my scrap bins and making some light weight quilts - perfect for a summer bed cover. The one for my bed will be muslin and lots of blues. Making one each for DGD's who have their own places, one all soft colors and the other black and white with bits of bright colors. I was at a retreat last weekend and sewed up over 100 black and white 6 1/2 blocks but still need many more for DGD #2's quilt. I better stop 'talking' about making them and get over to the sewing machine. May in Jersey

thanks for all the awesome input!! I am so not good at choosing color, because I Love ALL color for the most part.. This small segment of the quilt is only one little bit, as I ran out of blocks I had thought would be Plenty, haha.. Not even near enough, so will spend my saturday ( Yea for Saturday's !) today, cutting, sewing and sorting again.. I can't wait to have this project finished, and yes, for those who've asked, I will post a photo when that happens!

I've made two quilts with this pattern. Great scrap busters. I made mine sans borders. I did one with mostly purples, and one in mostly hot colors. I love the mixed up look of your multi. Might be time to tame the scraps again.

When I first saw this I thought purple binding. If it is plenty big enough on it's own, I wouldn't use a border however if you need a border I would go with a thin inner border of white and piano keys around like another poster commented. I think large amounts of solid color bordering these blocks would tend to draw attention away from all the piecing work you did on the center unless you could find a just-right patterned fabric with all the colors but that would take away from the scrappiness (is that a word?) of this quilt which I really like. Good Luck!

I am not an experienced quilter,, but I think a white border,, or maybe a beige border would make the rest of the quilt pop!!! and love it!!!

There is no wrong color for this quilt! Really like this grouping of fabrics. Color would depend on how bold you want this quilt. I can even see a narrow lime green inner border with white tonal outer border and black binding. That would be bold to be sure. So many possiblities, you have a job on your hands. When I get to this point, I put some choices together, leave the room for a while and walk back in to get fresh look. It is amazing what you see after leaving the project for few minutes and look with fresh eye. Please share photos when you have completed.
