What a nice job you did on this one. I love scrappy quilts and really like the 2 blocks you used in this one, very pleasing to the eye when you look at it. Hope your sister knows how lucky she is. :)

You're work is beautiful, and I like the final border, it adds to the quilt nicely!

When you do these scrap quilts, you really have to let the control go! Actually all those "white" are various shades of beige or muslin. It seems when you use scraps a red goes right next to an orange and so on. Anything goes!!
Got to agree with Harriet: the more you try to control your scrappy quilt, the less satisfied you are likely to be with the results.

If you have a really hard time with that idea, try putting some assorted light squares, maybe 2" or 2 1/2" in one small paper bag and assorted mediums and darks in another.

Whatever comes out is what you sew together. You'll be surprised how great it will look! Practice on a dolls quilt or something until you're ready to really cut loose LOL.

    Hope you have fun!

Harriet that's a stunning quilt. You're inspiring me to start cutting my scraps into squares. What size did you use for the 16 patch blocks?
    Thanks for the picture!

It is beautiful. I am finding that scrappy quilts take more thought than coordinated quilts. Very nice!

    Thanks for the picture![/quote]

The squares are 2 1/2" strips, put 4 together and sub cut into 2 1/2" strips. and the half squares are 4 1/2" strips cut with the Omnigrid 96 ruler. Pattern is Patches and Pinwheels at quiltville.com
