scrappy blocks

I like dunster's suggestion, that you could arrange them in the spectrum of the rainbow. You could also try them in what I think is called "Thinking outside the box" There are so many possibilities with log cabin blocks, look forward to seeing your finished quilt.

This is going to be beautiful. I wonder if you'll have the right mix of blocks to make a progression of color, say yellow on one corner progressing through orange to red to purple to blue to green? and maybe to repeat? I love quilts that go through the color wheel like that, but I never seem to have the right fabrics to make one.

Thanks for the nice comments and encouragement
That's a great idea! I made a plan on graph paper and know how many more blocks of each color to make. I am thinking that I'll make it 8 blocks across and 10 blocks down.
In bed this morning I thought, wouldn't it be nice to add a strip of fabric for a transition between each color section. I'm thinking about tone-on-tone fabrics. Between the green and yellow, I would put a strip of yellow-green fabric, and so on. I'll have to play around--not sure that will work.
