JenniePenny, Your quilt is beautiful. I haven't made a scrappy quilt, but after seeing yours, I want to. Your avatar quilt is also beautiful and looks like it might be a scrappy one. What is the name of the blocks used in both of these quilts. Would it be possible to post a larger picture of your avatar quilt?

Gorgeous quilt! Great colors and pattern, and excellent workmanship. Just love it.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and well wishes. This quilt was on the June 2009 cover of American Patchwork and Quilting, designed by Carrie Nelson. The headline - Super Scrappy Quilts - from your Stash! (or something to that effect) is really not accurate. I wanted to mimic the pattern pretty closely, so I set out for all kinds of Civil War era prints. I think my stash got 4 times bigger - not smaller. But anyway, it is on my bed now and I love it there!
