Scrappy Giraffe

very kewl giraffe... he looks like quite a challenge. It's always nice to hear when someone enjoys a new quilting experience, especially since you shared it was out of your comfort zone. I'll have to google her and see if she has a blog or website. Your quilt is adorable... keep up the wonderful work.

Shannon goes into great detail in her book, which also has lots of patterns. The giraffe is new and I ordered him from her website. The pattern is $8 & includes directions. Basically it's fusible web applied to as many pieces of fabric as you want. Cut the fused fabric into small pieces. Layer them on non-woven interfacing and fuse. Cut out the applique and apply to the background fabric. There are some other steps since the fusible won't tolerate a lot of washing, but that's the short version. Her book has really creative suggestions for cutting and fusing the small pieces.
