    I'm so glad you're taking care of it for him. It would be a shame if he "18 year old-ed" all over it. Really great job!

    Well your grandson at least has good taste - it's remarkable he wanted this particular pattern and color scheme. I suspect he would take care of it no matter when, with a little education about what that means. (I have a 13-year-old who likes to sit on her quilt and draw with charcoal, ballpoint pens etc. Yikes. We had to put a stop to that practice!)
