Cheryl, A dye catcher is a small piece of "magic" that you can toss into the wash with your laundry and it'll collect any excess dye and prevent it dying the rest of the wash. You can find a box of them in the laundry section of most grocery stores. There are a couple of different brands. They are a life savor when one forgets to check for running colors ahead of time! Oops!!!

Love your quilt! I also like your use of the mesh bag for holding your scraps. Thanks for the information on the dye catcher.

Great quilt! The most beautiful and useful quilts come from the scrap basket. Happy quilting!

Question? Why is it I have just as many scraps now as when I started? Really!
My other question I kept asking myself - I have some beautiful fabric sitting in my stash. Why then am I playing with my trash? Oh, well. It was fun!
The postage stamp quilt will not be done for a very long time. I'm just stitching squares together as I finish a seam on my other projects. I now have two blocks of 10X10 squares. It'll be a long time before I even have a lap size quilt at this rate.
Thanks again for your positive feedback. Yvonne
Just think of how many beautiful fabrics you are touching when working with your scraps!

I use squares as leaders and enders, too. You will be amazed how quick your blocks will come together. I'm doing my postage stamps as 9 patches first--then I don't know!! Like you say, it'll take a while!

I love the quilt! Log Cabin is one of my all time favorites. I keep forgetting to look for the color catchers at my local store.
