I've done the log cabin and can really appreciate your BEAUTIFUL quilt! The sorting method used is outstanding...maybe we could all benefit from a house call from a master organizer! Blessings.

Dunster ~ I have been on this board just a few days and you have already cost me well over $200! First I purchased your Diamond Star Log Cabin pattern and then today I went to Quilts Plus in Kalamazoo and bought Judy Martins's book you used for this quilt and a kit there to make the Sequoia Stars quilt in that book. That kit cost me $154. The kit contained the following colors, black, brown, off white and red. They had this quilt all made up and on display and it was the most beautiful quilt I have ever seen in my life. I have to get better before I can make this quilt but it was the last kit they had, so of course I had to buy it. You are such an inspiration to me!!!

Ha! Glad to help out. I should get a commission from Judy Martin, since I recommend her books all the time. On her web site you can sign up for her newsletter and view lots of quilts made by readers from her patterns.

WOW! Not only is it wonderful but you did use up some of your scraps. Your stash must be a lot bigger than mine or else you just saved more scraps.

Who knew you could accumulate so many scraps in under 3 years? And there are still more!!! Do they breed in my sewing room?
I love both sides of your quilt.I need to get in gear an finish my quilt tops I have started. If I just get used up the squares an strips used up i'll have to go buy a bunch of batting.I think I have
enough backing material or stuff i can use as backing or even a another top for the backing for the other side.that would make it a two in one quilt.Which won't hurt my feelings a bit.

Wow, I wish I had the room to organize my scraps that way!!!

I have mine cut into strips. The 2 1/2" strips are in one big container underneath my sewing table and the smaller scraps are in smaller containers.

My daughter is sitting beside me and laughing because I had just told her I think my scraps are breeding in my stash. Love your quilt.
