    I save on muslin by using old phone book pages. Sure gets rid of those phone books!

    I used phone books for years but, even free as they were, Muslin IMHO was sooooooo much better.. at less than $0.99 a yard it was well worth NOT having to tear off the paper..
    plus it kept its shape very nicely as some of the strips were on the bias.. I use every scrap...
    I will, going forward use cheapo muslin from now on.. it made it soooo easy to square up and cut out...

    We could be related! I never toss out scraps. My quilting friends call me the "scrap lady"; and I am proud of it.
    I even have them give me their scraps. I do have been segregated into sizes; even the triangles. Makes it easy to pull what I need at the time. It's a disease! Keep on scrapping.
