    Did not use backing on the batting, Made my blocks,put the sashing on and put another pc. of warm & natural on and then the backing which I used muslin then tied. You may think this would be extra heavy but it is not

    this stitch is done by hand. I'm quite sure this is called a herringbone stitch, my mother taught me this many years ago

    Love the quilt! I am always looking for something different to do with scraps. Love your idea. I just finished a scrappy quilt and should have used sashing as you did. Now I cannot find a binding that goes with all of the scraps. Just have to keep trying , I guess.

    Your quilt turned out just beautiful. Want to try one similar, the stitching just makes the blocks pop.
