"Honestly, I'd thank her for being candid because it's sad when you've spent tons of work on a gift quilt that is not to the recipient's tastes. Awkward for them and disheartening for the artist (yes, we are, all folk artists!). Better to find out ahead of time."

You are right. It is better for her to have what she likes. And for me to spend my time and energy for someone who appreciates my particular tastes....Maybe like one for me?

Well I have had so much inspiration from this thread, I finally got to grips with going totally scrappy!

I have been playing with all the scraps I cut up a few weeks ago. These are 3.5" unfinished 4 patches and HST, just roughly lay out on our rug LOL

    So what do you think?

I DO SO LOVE SCRAPPYS. THEY REMIND ME OF THE DAYS WHEN FOLKS MADE DO AND USED IT UP. PERHAPS WE ARE RETURNING TO THOSE DAYS.

Thanks Lois, it was difficult for me to 'go with the flow' and not 'match up every square of fabric...All of my quilts are basically scrappy but usually follow a controlled colour scheme. I am just about to lay these out in Jacob's Ladder Pattern to see if I prefer that LOL...this is such fun!!

    :-D :-D :-D

So which layout do you prefer??

so amazing! some day I might have enough scraps to start to make a crazy quilt. I love the idea of using what we have and make something nice instead of always wanting what we do not have

Izy, I like both ways really... but if I have to really choose I would go for #1
