Thank you so much for this WIP. I've never done a scrappy quilt and yours gives me inspiration. I think i need a wall.

I agree--lovely, lovely. A dark blue or red binding would finish it off.

I was thinking at first to add on the scrappy border but the more I look at it, I think not. Just quilt and bind in a pretty red like oksewglad said.

OOH I just took the whole journey through your quilt and I just love it. I think the scrappy border look great too. You are very talented to be able to sew your vision like that. My best wishes for your sister and hope she is doing well.

Yes, I am thinking a solid colored binding would be a fine finishing touch <wave> (and, I do like that red idea thing <g>)

What a beautiful and special quilt. Your sister will treasure it. I'm glad that her prognosis is good.

Ok, here is a not so good photo with a bit of the scrappy border. Also, the striped binding I was planning to use, and a bit of the red that some suggested. I have some royal blue, too, that I could use for the binding. I might like that better than the red. Hmmm. What do you think now that you can see the scrappy?

There is nothing better than your sister feeling wrapped up in the warmth of your love. Get it to her as soon as you can.

My sister-in-law, who has also been quite ill with a hernia repair gone very bad is finally being released from the hospital after being in there for a month. She has asked me to come stay with her for a while, so I will be away from my computer for the next week. I will be able to check in on hers I think, and I am taking the quilt to finish while I am there. You are right Jan, my sister needs it asap. My DSIL has an embroidery machine so I think I will take advantage of that and use it for making my label. Maybe.. I'll see. I kinda like sewing them by hand.
