Default scrappy square in square in square blocks

Well, I started to make the backing for my hippie love beads stack and whack that I posted a picture of last week. I had quite a bit of the sashing and setting fabrics leftover, and a bunch of little stacked squares from the stack and whack, so I decided to piece a few blocks to use on the backing. I was having such a good time making these blocks that I've ended up with enough to make another quilt top. That's a good thing, right? Still don't have the backing put together yet, maybe tonight!

So are you using the blocks for the back of the first quilt or making a new quilt top out of them? They are way cute. Peggy

I've made enough to do both, I had intended to make 8 pieced 10" blocks to intersperse with 10" squares for the pieced backing. I now have a total of 30 pieced blocks, so I should have enough to make both, and I do believe I'll turn out a few more before I'm done. I still have a little pile of scraps and 2" 4 patch blocks.

I love your blocks! How wonderful to make another top and still more scraps to go! I will have to rethink my leftover scraps instead of just bagging them!

You'll end up with 2 quilts in 1! I'm liking it a lot!
