    Default Scraps and recycle

Hi! My husband helped me and we reduced 3 boxes of Fabrics and 1 box of scraps, I toss small pieces in as I sew and embroider, down to I box and a drawer. I put these we cut in the drawer. We cut 2 1/2 squares up to 10 inch sqs. Anything smaller than 2 1/2 inch I Used to make this sashing for this quilt. Quilt is 49x 63 for CASA.
I don’t need any grip rulers, my husband is my grip so ruler stays put😂🤣I recycled blue jeans cutting 9 1/2 in squares. The small scraps I sewed onto cash register tape. I am using a soft cheap blanket from Walmart for backing and no batting. Not sure yet how I will bind it though I have already started quilting. I am doing just simple Quilting in the ditch then 2 inches away inside sq. I call this my I Spy quilt because you will find frogs, butterflies, worm, etc

What a great idea to use register tape for making sashing with scraps! Thank you for including photos. Your quilt is fabulous!
A pat on the back to your husband for being so helpful! I wondered what you do with strips like the one shown in your photo that is to the right of the register tape...tiny and narrow scraps or is that the waste you got from trimming your register tape strip?

Yes that is waste from my sashing register tape. Some waste is just a sliver and some an inch or so.None of it quiet wide enough to go the 2 1/4 inches across.

That is both beautiful and brilliant! I love everything about it, including that it's for CASA. Well done, both you and your husband!

That is beautiful. Have you checked “Scrap Quilt Enthusiasts “ on Facebook? They would love your quilt as much as I do!
