I have not been on the board much lately because I’ve been working on this quilt every spare moment. I started this quilt a couple of days after Thanksgiving. It was for my son’s Christmas gift as he just bought a new king sized bed and needed a quilt for it. I finally finished it and gave it to him n New Year’s day! It measures 115 X 115 and can double as a bedspread. The blocks are random ‘strings’ in colors that make me think of the sea. In keeping with the ‘sea’ theme I quilted it in swirls and waves. The outer borders are echo quilted with almost 30 rows of stitches. I used more than 2 miles of thread quilting this quilt! The outer borders were trimmed following the ‘wavy’ quilting lines.
When I asked my son if he wanted a quilt, he said he didn’t think so because he would not be very good at taking care of it and he thought it would upset me if I came to visit and saw the quilt on the floor. So I told him that I will promise not to drop in unexpectedly and if I call first, all he has to do is close the bedroom door and I will never know! Problem solved!

You did a wonderful job on that quilt on a DM. I also quilt on a DM but nothing that large! I know he will love it now that he sees it, and who knows, that might be the one thing he'll really take care of. I can't see it going to the beach!
