I was gifted some that were 'just' selvages, and they were pretty useless, you still need your 1/4 seam on one side.
I vary mine from 1/2"-ish color to 1-1/2". I've seen many projects using just the words, you'd need 1/4" color on left on those.

Karen Griska has a great book and some fun individual patterns for using selvages. I've also used them to make scissors lanyards, and gifted many of them to members here on the board.

For those of you that have been here for a long time, what’s the name of the lady that made the most beautiful projects out of selvages? Anyway I didn’t do it myself but I know you used to be able to put in selvages in the search and she would be included.

I have a big bin full because my friend asked me to save them for her. Fast forward, and now she said she had too many to mess with. My bin full will go to my guild's free table. My friend made me a pretty pillow using the selvages that is enough selvage items for me.

Who else out there is gathering the selvages and can show what you sewed out of them?
I have saved salvages for years. I love to make a bag for the quilts that I give as presents. I have also made lots of squares. Haven't used them yet. BUT, someday?? HAHA
