    Thanks Gemm. I usually combine some ruler work with freehand quilting. The curved parts of the leaf were done with a curved ruler, but the veins were done freehand. The crosshatching was all done with rulers, but the feathers were done freehand.

    I'm still very much a stitch-in-the-ditch girl, but I think once I'm feeling a bit more adventurous, I might have to look into some of these rulers you're talking about if it means I might be able to aspire to beautiful quilting like yours. Thanks for the tip!
