    Doesn't all that stuff hanging in front get in the way? I know I would have a problem with it.

    Very nice mat and what great memories you will have every time you use it. Also love the plastic see thru pockets-what a great idea. Is this what we call "recycle"??

    thanks, sharon. i bought the plastic many, many years ago in the sewing section by the yard. so i guess it is for sewing. the wrapper showed many utility uses for it.

    i don't find it to be in the way at all. it sits higher than my lap. and i still have room to the side for my knee lift bar

    It's really nice. My daughter made one for me. I have a plastic table also.
    The problem I encountered with it was when I tried feeding a quilt or any long fabric into my machine. The mat got in the way and puckered with the fabric.
