    Hi all,

I've just been looking at the pics of Marcia's wonderful sewing room and thought it might be fun to share pics of where we all do our stuff. I just use the dining table in the family room and I have a shelf unit and baskets for my fabric. The rest of my stuff is scattered about the place in various boxes, my cutting mat and ruler stands up wedged behind the dresser - NOT ideal! It's frustrating because it takes so long to set up for a session, then the kids want to use the table or people want to eat :? And I have to pack up. I would love to convert our attic (tell DH it's a 'den' :D )

I had some great ideas from Marcia's set up and this is just a thinly veiled attempt to pinch some more ideas from you all!

Sorry it's on its side - it stands upright in real life!

I sew in my dining room also. This weekend were having company but I'm not moving 2 machines hahaha along with everything else, so I'll have one very messy room and you have to walk through it to get to the kitchen from the living room. lol

Hi K-Thanks for the compliment. I love my quilt room-it came after years of sewing in a corner of my bedroom, on the dining room table, or in a walk-in closet. When we were selecting the floor plan for our house, a quilt room was a must for me (my husband got a wood working shop).

I LOVE your sewing machine cover. Can you tell me about it? Did you make it yourself? If so, where can I find the pattern. I would love to make one, too.

Lots of people have posted pics of their quilt rooms. Here are just a few of the threads for you to look at--

WOw thanks Marcia, I'll have a b rowse through that later! the sewing machine cover was from a pattern in a French magazine. I could try and scan it in for you - mods does that breach copyright?!

Thanks K, but I do believe that would not be "legal". Is the magazine Quilt Mania? It is a French quilting magazine that they translate into English and sell in the US. I can get a back copy if that is the one and you tell me what issue it is.

No Marcia it wasn't, although I do get Quiltmania on subscription! It was Elena patchwork November 2007. It does give a price on it for Canada so maybe you can get it? If not let me know and I could write up a description of how you make it. Or I could scan it in and email it to you, or is that naughty as well? (But who would know - ssshhh!)

I get a corner of the dining room too. I have a small sewing table so I can leave projects I'm working on out, but DGD keeps trying to claim my fabric. LOL It's Ok, I can share. :D :D :D :D
