Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful quilt with us. It is a pleasure to see the soft wonderful colors that truly are totally Shabby Chic! I have seen one other quilt that had lace used in it and have plans to make one myself with vintage lace that I have been collecting in my travels. I'm going to make a crazy quilt style but will be using pieces of vintage embroidery as the fabric. I feel a renewed drive to get going on that quilt now but I have several others ahead of it before I can start on it. This is a prettiest OBW that I have seen but I am a Shabby Chic kind of gal!

Beautiful quilt. Maybe you could do a little tutorial of how you do the lace on the borders? It is a really nice effect. Gorgeous!

Wow, it turned out beautifully. I love the lace effect. How did you come up with that idea? It works perfectly on this quilt.

Thanks MamaBear ...... How? Not quite sure ... evolution? From a traditional border which I didn't think was going to be "right" for the quilt ... to a fabric ruffle, to a lace ruffle, to a combo of the two, back to a regular fabric border to a flat lace ... I went round and round for awhile, was unsettled for quite awhile, totally unsure what was going to look "just right"!

Even when I started I still wasn't totally convinced I was taking the right step. In the end, I am VERY pleased and happy with the results!!

I am really behind on looking at my emails. I think your OBW is one of the prettiest I've seen! Love the colors.

I really like how you did the lace. Great idea. I have thought of doing something similar but couldn't figure out how. Now that I see the pics and read the description I want to tel myself, to quote my kids when they were younger, "DUH".
