Default Shadow Embroidery - quilted pillow

I have been watching many of the quilting teachers on the computer, as they have taken to doing live shows on FB or youtube during this stay-at-home time. Alex Anderson offered her Love thy Neighbour (added my Cdn "u") pattern free from the quilt show. She did a demo on starting your work without a knot, which is so cool. My very good neighbour moved recently after over 30 years ... I decided to make this strip into a quilted pillow for her.... it is approx 12"x 17" ....I had a pillow form so adjusted my work to that size.

    Great Job, TBug!!
And what a lovely gift for your friend.

I had never knotted at the start, but instead would whip stitch it to stabilize.
Only discovered the one thread "U" method a couple of years ago.
So obvious, but why had we never heard of it before?

I didn't know Alex Anderson was into embroidery, so must check her out.
Are you familiar with Mary Corbet? She is one that I have been learning from ....

A very pretty pillow. It's easy to get lost watching tutorials!
