That is beautiful fabric. I would use it as a cheater panel & put a black border, blue border, gray border to make it the size you want it. Or you could put a black border & piano key a border out of some of the fabric with black in between each piano key. Then another black border. Then quilt it & bind in black.

This would be one of the 'uncuttables', if it were mine. It's gorgeous. I like the idea of using it as a panel, then framing it in blocks or borders.

It's by Robert Kaufmann, Florentine II
I know, the more I look at it the more confused I get. It is even more beautiful in person. I may sit here for several more months before I make a decision. But thanks for the input everyone.

Wow Trisha that is so beautiful I think I would quilt it whole and really enhance its gorgeous design.

    Thanks,

Please, Please, Please, DO NOT cut that beautiful fabric into a OBW!! Not that I am against OBW's but that is just too gorgeous to cut. Depending on how much you have, just quilt it as is and add borders or whatever. It is just too pretty to cut up!! Well, that is my two cents worth!!

    Taking votes!!!
I definitely would NOT cut it up for OBW, however, I would consider either fussy cutting those gorgeous designs and doing an alternating 9patch, or the other choice would be fussy cut and a snowball block. If you have enough, use it as a centre panel as suggested previuosly.

i would leave that fabric uncut and build around it.

not only is it beeeuooooteeefaminous, look at all the possibilities it offers for practicing hand or machine quiltings of all sorts. :-)
